MyCujoo evolves its partnership with the Brazilian Football Confederation to broadcast the e-Brasileirão 2020

The landmark agreement will see a major eSports competition broadcast on MyCujoo’s live football streaming platform for the first time

Fans of Brazilian football now have a new, live, and free way to get behind their team. In a landmark agreement with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), a major eSports competition will be broadcast on the MyCujoo platform for the very first time. Live streaming on MyCujoo from 6 June, clubs from the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A will be virtually represented in the e-Brasileirão 2020, providing Brazil’s elite teams with new opportunities to reach and engage their passionate supporters at a time when live football is not being played or is behind closed doors. The matches will be distributed across the entire MyCujoo platform, including mycujoo.tv and its suite of apps for iOS, Android, and Amazon Fire, together with being available for embeds with relevant media partners.

In total, 37,743 participants registered to compete, a record in the five editions of the tournament to date. The matches are played using the Brazilian Football Confederation’s (CBF) official and exclusively licensed football simulation eFootball PES 2020 published by Konami, on the Sony PS4.

The qualifiers for each club began on 16 May, and will reach their peak in the 2nd phase, when the duels start being broadcast. Each top tier side will hold its own knock-out tournament featuring up to 33 competitors, and then from 27 July the winning club representatives are set to face each other in a round-robin third phase. In December the final round will be played in person at the Confederation’s headquarters as well as the playoffs, culminating in the top eight battling it out in the fight to be crowned national champion.

In total, MyCujoo will show 844 games on its platform, which will result in over 12,730 minutes of live and on-demand content to its users.

The e-Brasileirão becomes the latest CBF competition to be broadcast on MyCujoo, reaffirming the partnership signed in 2019. MyCujoo exclusively live streams the Brazilian Serie D, whilst the Brazilian Women's A1 and A2, the Brasileirão U-20 and U-17, the Copa do Brasil U-20 and U-17, and the Brasileirão de Aspirantes are all broadcast using MyCujoo’s world-class technology.

"We’re happy to bring such an important competition as the e-Brasileirão to our platform, with the involvement of several traditional clubs. We are partners of both the CBF and Brazilian football, and we want to deliver more and more to our users, either way - real or virtual, adult or youth, female or male", said Terence Gargantini, MyCujoo Director Brazil and Latin America.

"The eSports audience is very passionate and doubtless will be thrilled to follow the tournament, as well as the football fan in general. Right now, with few options available for live content owing to the Covid-19 pandemic, this is a great opportunity for more people to discover this discipline and support their favorite club", he added.
