 ELEVEN SPORTS has secured LIVE and EXCLUSIVE rights to Bundesliga in Portugal for three years from the 2018/19 season.


In June, ELEVEN SPORTS announced a two-year agreement with Bundesliga in Portugal to start from the 2019/20 season, however the agreement has now been extended to start from the 2018/19 season, with Portugal becoming ELEVEN SPORTS’ fourth market to feature the top-flight German league.


The season starts on Friday 24 August with Champions FC Bayern München hosting TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in Niko Kovač’s first match in charge and fans will be able to enjoy some of the biggest clubs and players in global football week in, week out including Robert Lewandowski, Arjen Robben, Marco Reus and Portuguese World Cup star, Raphaël Guerreiro.


“ELEVEN’s global relationship with Bundesliga has enabled fans in Portugal to enjoy one of the best European football leagues from the start of this season”, said Pedro Mendonça Pinto, ELEVEN SPORTS Portugal Non-Executive Director. “ELEVEN has quickly become the go-to place for live football in Portugal with Bundesliga joining live coverage from UEFA Champions League, LaLiga, Ligue 1 and much more.”


As well as Bundesliga, fans will also be able to enjoy selected action from the second division of professional football in Germany, Bundesliga 2.


ELEVEN SPORTS Portugal launched last Wednesday with LIVE and EXCLUSIVE coverage of the UEFA Super Cup between Atlético Madrid and neighbors Real Madrid and the premium sports entertainment will continue on ELEVEN SPORTS. As well as Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2, fans can also access live coverage from UEFA Champions League, UEFA Youth League, LaLiga, Ligue 1, Scottish Premiership, Belgian Pro League, Combat Sports and lots more sports popular in the local market including NFL.


A carriage agreement with NOWO means that the operator will distribute ELEVEN SPORTS’ channels in Portugal. ELEVEN has also launched an OTT service in the market ensuring fans can watch top class sport anywhere, anytime, on the move and on catch-up.
